This provocation was to provide the child with black paper and white paint. The child has to look for different materials within a space to use as the material to paint, instead of using a brush or his/her own fingers. Boy 2.5 went around our backyard looking for objects to complete the activity. He chose a flower, a rock, a leaf, and a car.
