3 Steps for improving your child’s behaviors

  • Why say “No!”

it is important to teach children appropriate behavior, self-discipline, will keep them safe, and will allow them to cope with negative feelings.

  • Be CLEAR with your expectations will allow them to understand the rules quickly, therefore behave accordingly faster!
  • CONSISTENCY, consistency, consistency! If you always provide the same consequence for an unwanted behavior the child will comply with your requests.

If you have a clear rule to “not hit the wall with a wooden toy” and not be consistent by only giving a consequence for it the child will be incline to do it because “she” might get away with it… Once you start implementing limits you might see a spike on the specific behavior because the child will be “testing” you but if you are consistent with the consequences the negative behavior will decrease!
