Montessori Wet Pouring

This activity is a fantastic way for children to work on their fine motor skills, while learning that the water can be spilled and how to clean it when that does happen. This activity is normally done with glass containers but I used the plastic toy because I don’t have a pouring container that is light enough for my daughter to use. It can be seen on the video that the child quickly learns the sense of space by pouring some of the water out before she is fully capable to pour the water into the container without making a mess as the video starts during her first attempt to pour the liquid. Once the child masters this ability she can start pouring water into a small container to learn the timing to stop pouring to reach the limit capacity of the container.

My daughter is 19 months.
