Ask the child to hold some fruit. The child should observe; feel the weight, the colors, and the textures. Then ask him or her to smell the fruit. Take a bite but without swallowing it, bring the piece to different areas of their mouth while concentrating on the sensations. Ask the child to bite the fruit slowly to feel its sensations. Lastly, have the child swallow the fruit and describe the different sensations as it travels down to his or her stomach.
