Montessori activity of transferring objects

Boy 2.3 had started an “Introduction to Preschool” at the one of our local schools the week before the Stay Home orders. He was absolutely loving attending his classes 3 times a week for 2 hours each session. I felt the need to implement homeschooling activities in his life while the schools were out. This activity was my attempt to mimic a staple activity in the Montessori curriculum. I had seen the explanation of this activity in all of the Montessori school tours I have attended.

This activity helps children with their fine motor skills, focus, and concentration.

In this activity we have used two containers, one of them being a pitcher style of container. There are different materials that can be transferred, like water, sand, or a small object. In our case, Blake was transferring beads from one container to the next.
