Boy 2.3 loves painting so I had him paint the toilet paper roll for this activity. I made a cut on top of the paper roll as the area for the pilot. Then I made a two cuts on the sides and top of the airplane to add the wings. The cuts were done with a folding knife. The wings were done with the box of a pasta made out of a thin cardboard. The cut out of the wings were made out of my imagination so the size was not precisely measured. I folded the wings on the inside of the plane and used a tape to keep it in place.
